How does the garden look?

Springtime continues in the cooler-than-normal mode, with even a few days of rain this April. Hence the massed rose debut was a little later. In fact, we're still enjoying the profusion of blooms, as you can see at right.

Nasturtiums reseeded themselves at the foot of the roses and erigeron daisies continue to blanket the ground. The mix of scents is quite noticeable, from the delicate Brunfelsia shrub ( commonly known as 'Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrrow') plus all manner of old heritage roses and modern single shrub varieties. Two of my favorites, 'Madame Hardy,' a white alba or damask rose, and Kim Rupert's single shrub rose 'Indian Love Call' are both open this week. It's a good season for our herbs too!
