What's blooming?

Roses, nasturtiums, lobelia, geraniums. Last update: Apr. 11, 2009.

  • 'Burgundy Iceberg' varies from dark red to carmine-pink, but it's every bit as floriferous as its white cousin.
  • First 'Moe' of the season, actually '0-47-19' x 'Inner Wheel', a Kim Rupert's single shrub rose.
  • Hybrid tea 'Pearl Essence' ivory pink with a glowing salmon interior.
Still springing

Roses and their companion plants continue to churn out a cornucopia of color. At right a 'Midnight Blue' shrub rose grows in and around a weathered chair, with lobelia, dianthus and nasturtiums providing background color.

How does the garden look?

The peak's beginning to lessen, but there's still plenty to do, from deadheading roses to trimming and feeding. Fuchsias are coming on strong and we should have flower buds soon. Gazanias are galloping in the front garden.
